TikTok LIVE from OBS: stream key, resolution and bitrate

· 2 min read · Türkçe

Short answer: TikTok LIVE is vertical. Streamers usually send 1080×1920 (or 720×1280) at 30 fps, at about 2000–4500 kbps, with a 2 second keyframe interval and AAC audio at 128 kbps. TikTok doesn't publish official encoder settings, so treat these as common practice, not a rule.

Can you stream to TikTok from OBS?

Yes, with a TikTok stream key and server URL. The catch is getting the key. TikTok doesn't give one to every account, and its requirements aren't published in one place. Streamers report that you need to be 18 or older, have an account in good standing, and usually reach a follower threshold (often cited as 1,000). Some accounts only get access through TikTok's creator programs, and access can be taken away again.

If you don't have it yet, you can apply for PC LIVE access on TikTok's application page (log in first). Linking a channel where you already stream, like Twitch or YouTube, shows TikTok your streaming history.

Keys for TikTok LIVE are often short-lived: you may need a fresh key for each stream.

Settings streamers use for TikTok LIVE

Resolution1080×1920 or 720×1280 (vertical, 9:16)
Frame rate30 fps
Video bitrate2000–4500 kbps

AudioAAC, 128 kbps, 44.1 or 48 kHz

These values come from streamers' guides, not from TikTok. TikTok's own help pages don't list encoder settings.

Vertical vs. horizontal

A normal 16:9 game stream shown on TikTok gets a lot of empty space above and below it, or gets cropped. If TikTok matters to you, build a vertical scene in OBS (a 1080×1920 canvas, or a vertical canvas plugin) with your camera and the game arranged for a phone screen.

If you send one stream to TikTok and to Twitch, YouTube or Kick at the same time, every platform gets the same picture. Then you have to choose: horizontal for the other platforms, or vertical for TikTok. See what bitrate to use when multistreaming.

Common questions

What bitrate should I use for TikTok LIVE?

TikTok doesn't publish one. Streamers commonly use about 2000 to 4500 kbps at 720p or 1080p vertical, 30 fps.

What resolution is TikTok LIVE?

Vertical 9:16. 1080×1920 or 720×1280 are the usual choices.

Why can't I find my TikTok stream key?

Not every account gets one. Access depends on age, account standing and usually a follower count, and TikTok doesn't publish exact requirements. You can apply on TikTok's PC LIVE access page.

TikTok has no public page with encoder settings. The values here are what streamers report and use. Checked October 2026.
